Alaudinov speaks on Belarus, Akhmat, foreign PMCs in Kursk Oblast

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) - Apti Alaudinov, deputy head of the military and political department of the Russian Armed Forces, commander of Chechnya’s Akhmat special forces unit, talked about the operation of the Akhmat special forces unit in the Special Military Operation zone, the situation in Kursk Oblast and the attitude to the Belarusian leader in Chechnya as he spoke at the interview to Belarus 1 TV channel.

“Since young age I have heard our old people say: ‘He who has no enemies has not made progress’. We liberated 36 settlements together with the Second Army Corps in 2022. Almost the entire Lugansk People's Republic was liberated by the Akhmat special forces unit and the Second Army Corps. Let them name me any unit that can boast such results,” Apti Alaudinov said.

“Come over here, fight one day, and prove to the enemy that you can fight like us. Then I will be ready to listen to you,” Apti Alaudinov said addressing the words to those who are trying to discredit the Akhmat unit.

Speaking about the situation in Kursk Oblast, he noted that initially there was a very large number of foreign fighters in some sections, including Americans, Germans, Poles, Frenchmen. “There were a lot of different nationalities: Georgians, former Russian citizens, Chechen separatist fighters.” They suffered huge losses here. Most of them were withdrawn from here once they incurred losses,” the commander of the Akhmat special forces unit said.

Apti Alaudinov emphasized that the Kursk Oblast incursion was mainly supported by foreign PMCs. “They came in big numbers - about 12,000 people, hundreds of tanks, hundreds of armored vehicles. Most of it has already been destroyed – hardware, tanks,” he said. “They have suffered the losses that are incommensurable with the results they achieved. Moreover, they did not fulfill the strategic plan that was initially set before them, i.e. they failed in their blitzkrieg to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant.”

According to him, they no longer see foreign mercs. "Although, we would be happy to face them. For some reason, wherever we go they always run away. Those who do not run away, regret it a lot," the commander of the Akhmat special forces stressed.

Speaking about Belarus, Apti Alaudinov expressed confidence that Belarusians are very good people. "Unfortunately, I myself have never been to Belarus, but I have heard good things from people who have been to Belarus. Our attitude towards Belarusians is phenomenally good," he stressed.

"We have a very respectful regard for Batka. Everyone in Chechnya respects him. It is clear that Ramzan Kadyrov has a very warm attitude towards the leader, the president of Belarus and probably his respect and love for him are projected on the entire population of the republic and Kadyrov's team," he added.

Apti Alaudinov believes that Chechnya and Belarus will continue to enjoy very close relations. "God willing, we will do a lot of things for the benefit of humanity, and accomplish the goals we are facing," the commander of the Akhmat special forces concluded.
