SHKLOV DISTRICT, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko went on a working trip to Shklov District, Mogilev Oblast on 27 September, BelTA has learned.
The development of Shklov and Shklov District is a special priority for the head of state. This priority is not solely due to it being his small homeland, though that is also a factor.
Shklov and Shklov District are meant to become an example to be replicated in other regions of the country. After all, the primary focus for Belarus’ future is placed on the development of its regions. “Why are we starting the revival and restoration with Shklov District? Because I know every inch of this land. The whole country will replicate this model. A district has no chance to develop without such a foundation,” the Belarusian leader emphasized during his working trip to the region in April 2025.
It is necessary to put in order and efficiently use every piece of land. This primarily concerns the facilities of the agro-industrial complex. The president consistently monitors their progress during his working trips to the regions. These facilities are a recurring topic in the reports delivered to the head of state by the heads of the oblast and district, and the head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate.
In spring, Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the facilities of the district’s largest enterprise, the Kupalovskoye holding company. Apart from specific tasks for the holding company, directives were issued for its overall development, including the construction and renovation of a dairy and a feed plant.
The first stop of the president’s visit was the machine yard of ZAO ASB-Agro Gorodets. The head of state gave a critical assessment of the situation, citing issues with the storage facilities for vehicles, farm machinery, and spare parts, and the poor state of the equipment itself. Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out mismanagement and disorder, stating that this negatively characterizes not only the performance of the company’s leadership but also the shortcomings of the Shklov District administration and the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, which oversees Gorodets.
The head of state also toured the Gorodets dairy complex and a cornfield, receiving a report on autumn field work. Aleksandr Lukashenko also visited remote areas of the district, including near the villages of Krivel and Putniki, away from main roads. The working trip concluded at the recently renovated animal feed plant in Shklov.
