
SHKLOV DISTRICT, 27 September (BelTA) – During his working trip to Shklov District, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on his lengthy talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on 26 September, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of state, he and the Russian leader discussed joint solutions and steps in the current challenging situation: “We were thinking about how we could survive in these difficult times.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the current global situation compels even vast, resource-rich nations like Russia to carefully consider their course of action, let alone smaller countries such as Belarus, where it is all the more crucial to work efficiently in order to develop and sustain livelihoods on their own land.
“The world is torn apart: this is mine, and that is mine. And they are turning up pressure. They will not leave us alone. Meanwhile I am persuading you to work harder,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
As was reported, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in the Kremlin on 26 September, which lasted for more than five hours in various formats. The heads of state discussed the international and regional situation, particularly the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The presidents also focused on issues of the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the oil and gas sector. They also talked about the possibility of constructing another nuclear power plant in Belarus and about measures to protect the common market.
