Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Kenya

MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Kenyan President William Ruto as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Modern Kenya is progressively developing its economy, increasing its influence in the international arena and taking an active stance on regional and global matters. Kenya is also a recognized world leader in environmental protection. We highly appreciate the good relations that Minsk and Nairobi have developed. It is pleasant to note that our bilateral interaction has been gaining momentum recently and we have outlined the main areas of cooperation," the congratulatory message reads.

The head of state stressed that Belarus seeks closer partnership with Kenya in agriculture, food security, industry, education and information technologies.

"I am confident that the effective implementation of our plans and joint projects will contribute to the social and economic development of both states," Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized. "I am taking this opportunity to express my commitment to working productively with you for the sake of our citizens. I confirm the invitation to pay an official visit to Minsk."

The president wished good health and success in his work to William Ruto, and harmony and prosperity to the friendly people of Kenya.
