Lukashenko reviews Belarus-Russia military drills Allied Resolve 2022

OSIPOVICHI DISTRICT, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the Osipovichi training ground during the Belarus-Russia joint exercise Allied Resolve 2022 on 17 February, BelTA has learned.

The president watched a tactical drill event involving missile troops, artillery, and aviation of the Union State armed forces, as well as the Russian Airborne Forces.

In line with the concept of the event, a tactical landing force of the adversary landed in the area of the Union State rocket-assisted and missile formations in order to destroy them. To prevent the imminent attack, units of the Russian Airborne Forces took defensive positions in the area where the mock enemy was likely to advance.

Sukhoi Su-35C multirole super-maneuverable fighters engaged in an air battle with the enemy aviation and took control of the skies and backed a missile and bombing raid by the Yakovlev Yak-130 and Sukhoi Su-35 jets, as well as by Mi24 helicopters to attack the landing force of the adversary.

Smerch and Uragan multiple rocket launchers mounted a massive attack at the enemy motor convoy. The Verba man-portable air-defense systems suppressed attempts of the enemy to back its landing force by the aviation.

With the support of missile artillery, howitzers D-30 and self-propelled guns Nona, the Airborne Forces completed the destruction of the enemy landing force.
