MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was presented with a certificate for the restyled BelGee X50+ car during the visit to the Minsk International Exhibition Center, where the ceremony to present the State Quality Mark awards took place, BelTA has learned.
The State Quality Mark was awarded to the BelGee X50 passenger car. As it was reported to the president, the enterprise is not standing idle and is working on a restyled version of the model. The new car will be equipped not with a three-cylinder but a four-cylinder engine. Its electronic systems will also be improved, including the addition of adaptive cruise control. The first 20 prototypes have already been produced.
The enterprise’s team presented Aleksandr Lukashenko with a certificate for the X50+ car in order to take into account any possible remarks from the head of state regarding the updated model.
For his part, the head of state stated that he would regift this car, like all similar gifts, to someone else. “I pass all the gifts given to me personally on to people,” he said.
It was noted that the X50 model is very popular both in Belarus and on the Russian market.
“Please make sure all your cars receive the State Quality Mark. Don't forget what you promised me. I remember. You won't get away with it until you achieve a 100% domestically produced car. Set the task, to whomever you want,” the president said addressing the company's management. “But all cars must be ours. Well, 100% localization is neither reasonable nor necessary. You know how much is needed. And I know.”
