TIANJIN, 31 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko highly praised the results of China's development as he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin on 31 August, BelTA has learned.
“I wanted to say a lot while thinking about this meeting the day before. But when you visit somewhere and see colossal changes in just six months to a year, you forget what you wanted to say. You are simply excellent - China's gigantic development! Organization, discipline, everything in its place; no one is wandering aimlessly. People are engaged in concrete work. I see this as a great success for your state and a significant achievement for your leadership and colleagues in China. All other issues pale in comparison to what you are creating in the People's Republic of China,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
He noted that on the eve of his visit, he told Chinese journalists how, back in the days of Jiang Zemin (who was Chairman of China from 1993 to 2003), he came to China with one question on the agenda: “Technologies, technologies, technologies.” “I remember we were transferring certain technologies to China, and now we are learning from you in all areas, from the military-industrial complex to consumer goods,” the president said.
“Therefore, such good impressions push everything you think about globally into the background. You are making the global out of the simple. I congratulate you on this,” the Belarusian leader added.
