MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - The Marathon of Unity campaign has become a true anthem to sovereign Belarus and its history, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he attended the final concert of the Marathon of Unity campaign on 24 January, BelTA has learned.
“The Marathon of Unity has become a true anthem – an anthem to the sovereign country and its history. An anthem to all the achievements of our independence,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “You, standing on this stage, and those who are not here today, but whom we have seen in the cities of our country, did really well. Thank you very much!”
“You know, I am not an expert of all these campaigns of yours, but I do understand something about it. I will tell you frankly: I have never seen such a thing in Belarus during the years of independence. You have proved everyone that we can do world-class things. You have showed all the post-Soviet countries (and this makes me really happy) in what direction we should move and develop. You should understand that this stage got together both young and experienced artists. It is never easy to get everybody together and organize everything like this. But you did it. Thank you!” the president expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event.
“It was a true anthem to the people who understand what happiness it is to live and work on their land. And to feel that you are not alone. Belarus is behind you. Beloved, dear country. Our Belarus! Millions of like-minded patriots are behind you. Those who confidently say: “I am proud of my country! And I know for sure that it has a decent future, which we will build together!” We will definitely build it together, there is no other way. We will build it in peace and creation!” the Belarusian leader concluded.
