Lukashenko: Housing developers should bear full responsibility for their projects

MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) -  Housing developers should bear full responsibility for their projects, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he attended a ceremony to launch the new section of the third line of Minsk metro on 30 December, BelTA learned.
The new section of the metro runs through the Minsk World residential development. Earlier, the head of state, referring to the complaints from citizens, aired grievances to the developer. Aleksandr Lukashenko asked how the things in this neighborhood are now.

Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev reported that 123 houses have already been built, 27 more are under construction. The developer is building a school and a financial center at his own expense.
“They are fulfilling all obligations, aren’t they?” Aleksandr Lukashenko clarified.

The president recalled that people complained about the quality of the housing built. The State Control Committee inspected the facilities and found many violations, after which the developer was forced to pay heavy fines.

“The responsibility should be tough. The main thing is people,” the president emphasized. “Dana or not is not important. You have built a house, it must be of high quality. If it has problems, you must redo it”.
