Lukashenko does not believe that people of Moldova can give up on independence

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – I do not believe that the people of Moldova can give up on independence, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Moldovan politician and ex-president Igor Dodon, who currently holds the post of Chairman of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), BelTA learned.

“The biggest thing that shocked me was the discourse in Moldova about giving up on Moldovan independence and getting incorporated into a neighboring state. Disaster,” the president said. “But I don't believe it. Moldovans, the people of Moldova, especially Chisinau, are not stupid people.”

“There is no nation that will ever give up on its independence by itself. I hear it, but I do not believe it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
