MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Daniel Francisco Chapo on his election as president of Mozambique, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"The results of the vote show the high trust of the nation in you and FRELIMO party. I am convinced that under your leadership the country will continue its progressive development and defend its position in the international arena," the message of congratulations reads.
The head of state reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to building up long-term relations with Mozambique. "Minsk and Maputo have considerable potential to enhance political dialogue, deepen mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, and step up joint work in such areas as petrochemicals, education, high-tech manufacturing," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
"Belarus is ready to assist you in renewing the state economy and share its experience of implementing successful projects in agricultural mechanization and food security in neighboring Zimbabwe. In case of your agreement, Belarus stands ready to send a high-level government delegation to identify promising areas of cooperation any time convenient for you," the Belarusian leader said.
The president wished Daniel Francisco Chapo good health and significant success in the highest state post and invited him to visit Minsk to discuss all matters of bilateral relations.
