MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – While announcing personnel decisions on 29 July, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on attempts to accuse him of corruption, BelTA has learned.
“All allegations are fake. What they [opponents to the government] say, especially about corruption and other crimes, are not true,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The head of state recalled that he began his political career as a member of parliament, he led an anti-corruption commission of the Supreme Council and worked to ‘weed this evil out'. “They say that power corrupts people, but this is not about me, because I come from the countryside and I grew up being outside all the time,” the president said.
