Lukashenko: Belarus, China need to run, not walk, to strengthen their relations

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – In developing their relations, Belarus and China shouldn’t just move forward; they should move full speed ahead, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with China Media Group, BelTA has learned.

The president thanked China for open and collaborative partnership. According to him, China embodies a truly calm nation, a genuine civilization.
“This is something we take into consideration. As Europeans, we are accustomed to a relentless pace. However, I have recently observed that China is also beginning to accelerate, recognizing that global relations are now evolving at an avalanche-like speed. This new reality demands that we not merely walk, but run. I am striving to match this pace,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the head of state, any meeting with the leader of China sends a certain message for the Belarusian society, for the Chinese society, and for the international community.
