MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Oman concluded a memorandum of cooperation regarding the construction of a pulp and paper mill in Belarus. It is part of a package of documents, the texts of which were exchanged by both parties in the presence of the two countries' leaders, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, following the talks at the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 6 October, BelTA has learned.
The project is estimated at around $1.4 billion in total investments. The annual production capacity is projected at around 800,000 tonnes.
During the negotiations, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Oman’s investments in the wood processing sector will help utilize Belarus’ natural resources more efficiently.
