Belarus lists agencies allowed to have banner

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.258 “On official heraldic symbols” on 6 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

The decree lists agencies and organizations allowed to have a banner and persons entitled to wear a uniform.

Since a banner is a symbol of honor, valor, and (military or labor) glory, the list includes all agencies that already have official banners and also a number of other bodies that might be rewarded for services to the country in the future. These agencies include the government, the chambers of the parliament, the Constitutional Court, the State Secretariat of the Security Council, and other state agencies and organizations.

In line with the decree, persons entitled to wear a uniform include judges, employees of prosecutor's offices, military officers, employees of law enforcement agencies and paramilitary organizations, bank's collection services, students of Minsk Suvorov Military School and other military educational institutions. A uniform highlights the special status of such persons and indicates their affiliation with a certain agency.
