Aleksandr Rogozhnik
MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Aleksandr Rogozhnik as Vitebsk Oblast Governor. Until now, the region’s new leader served as Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Rogozhnik was born in 1976 in Gomel.
In 1998, he graduated from the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University with a degree in Accounting, Control, and Analysis of Economic Activity, after which he served in the internal affairs bodies.
From 2009 to 2011, he underwent retraining at the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, specializing in State Administration of the National Economy.

He began his professional career in 1999, working as an inspector in the Gomel Passazhirsky department of the Gomel Customs checkpoint. In 2000, he worked as a chief specialist in the regional development department of the administration of the Gomel-Roton free economic zone. He then spent two years as a manager in the marketing department of an enterprise before transitioning to work at the Energy Ministry. There, he initially served as a chief specialist and later as an economic advisor in the economic department.
From 2003 to 2006, he returned to the production sector, heading first one private unitary enterprise and then another.
In 2006, he resumed work within the Energy Ministry, where he served as deputy head of the economic department and head of the economic analysis division.
From 2008 to 2010, he headed the economy department of the administration of the Leninsky District in Minsk. For one year, he led the scientific and production unitary enterprise KBTEM-ITC. Subsequently, he moved to another enterprise as its head - Optoelectronics Systems, where he worked from 2011 to 2018.
From 2018 to 2022, he served as Director General of Minsk Motor Plant Holding Management Company.
He was Industry Minister from 2022 to 2024.
In June 2024, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation.
