Zimbabwean president calls Belarus ‘home away from home’

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) - Belarus has become a “home away from home” for the Zimbabwean delegation, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa said during the talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 14 May, BelTA has learned.
"The hospitality that has been extended to me is beyond expectations. It is truly a home away from home," Emmerson Mnangagwa said as he addressed Aleksandr Lukashenko. “You are an example of leadership. Thank you for the role you play in the fruitful discussions and cooperation that contribute to our relationship and friendship between Zimbabwe and Belarus. Thank you very much, dear brother!"

The Zimbabwean president also congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Belarusian people on the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. During his visit to Belarus, Emmerson Mnangagwa visited the Brest Hero Fortress. He said the memorial complex is a reminder of the great feat and sacrifices made by the Belarusian people for the sake of world peace. “We pay tribute to the soldiers of Belarus, who left their mark in history and made a great contribution to the peaceful existence,” Emmerson Mnangagwa said.
