Uzbekistan president lauds Belarus’ productive presidency in EAEU

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - During Belarus’ productive presidency in the Eurasian Economic Union, multilateral practical cooperation has significantly intensified, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan said at the expanded-format meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk on 27 June, BelTA learned.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with other summit participants, , expressed gratitude to the Belarusian leader for the traditional warm welcome and the high level of organization. He emphasized that Belarus’ presidency has been fruitful and led to a noticeable increase in practical multilateral engagement.
“Today, my colleagues spoke about the challenging situation in the global economy. In Uzbekistan, we fully feel the negative impact of rising protectionism, sanctions policies, disruptions in trade and logistics chains, and declining investment activity from foreign partners,” the president said. “I would like to note that further expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with EAEU countries, our traditional partners, is one of the key priorities of our foreign economic policy.”
