MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Representatives of U.S. analytical centers are in Belarus on a visit on 5-6 November, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The delegation includes experts and executives of the Center for European Policy Analysis, the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, RAND Corporation, and the Jamestown Foundation. While in Belarus the U.S. experts will visit the Defense Ministry, the Minsk Suvorov Military School, the Hi-Tech Park, and the Belarusian State Museum of History of the Great Patriotic War.
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with the U.S. analysts. The meeting focused on the current state of Belarusian-American relations and their development prospects, the situation in the European region and possible avenues of cooperation with the USA analytical community. On 5 November Ben Hodges, an expert of the Center for European Policy Analysis, and Glen Howard, President of the Jamestown Foundation, laid flowers at the Minsk – Hero City stele to pay a tribute of respect to those, who fought to liberate Belarus in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The U.S. delegation will take part in a briefing on Belarusian-American relations. The briefing has been organized by the expert initiative Minsk Initiative.
