MOSCOW. 22 October (BelTA) - The 18th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, which has long become a platform for open, multilateral dialogue and equal cooperation across Greater Eurasia, will be held at Cıragan Palace in Istanbul on 30-31 October, BelTA learned from the organizers.
The event, which traditionally brings together politicians, experts, diplomats, heads of major corporations, and journalists from both West and East, was held for 14 years in Verona, Italy, even at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, geopolitical realities forced the organizers to change the traditional venue of the foru,. In 2022, it was held for the first time outside of Italy, in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Subsequently, the event was hosted by Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and Ras Al-Khaimah, UAE.
“This year, the forum is being hosted by Türkiye. Situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, it now finds itself at the center of global political interests, which has allowed it to become one of the important hubs of the modern world,” explained the Italian non-profit association Conoscere Eurasia, which is organizing the event, with the support of Roscongress Foundation.
“On the sidelines of the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, we see the effectiveness of economic diplomacy as a tool for developing international business cooperation. The event brings together over a thousand participants from more than 30 countries and continues to expand its geographical reach," noted Anton Kobyakov, an advisor to the Russian president.
“We do not claim to change the world or solve all problems. The forum is designed to allow for an exchange of ideas, proposals, and initiatives, to foster a constructive approach, and to seek pathways that consider the interests of different parties, thereby paving the way for economic cooperation. Such an approach can contribute to the well-being of all peoples and to social prosperity across Greater Eurasia," said Antonio Fallico, President of the Conoscere Eurasia Association.
The main theme of this year's forum is New Energy for New Economic Realities. It reflects the key challenges of our time, which have been incorporated into the business program's agenda. The discussions will be dedicated to finding innovative solutions in energy, industry, finance, transport, digital technologies, agriculture, and the social welfare sector.
The dialogue will involve prominent politicians, heads of major companies, scholars and experts from various countries. The participants will discuss how joint international efforts can achieve significant results in ensuring social well-being and the global prosperity of Greater Eurasia.
