BREST, 22 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov signed a statement on the common vision of the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st century in Brest on 22 November, BelTA has learned.
The foreign ministers of the two countries agreed on approaches to the Eurasian Charter and discussed other issues during a joint meeting of the boards of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia. They also signed a number of other documents. Among them was the declaration of Belarus and Russia on enhancing the role of international law and guidelines on the qualification of unilateral coercive measures as unlawful, and also ways and means to counteract, mitigate and compensate for the negative consequences of such measures.

The parties exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda, as well as foreign policy coordination on international platforms. According to the ministers, much attention was paid to the diplomatic support of integration processes within the Union State, including preparations for the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State scheduled for December to mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty.
