MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – The summit of President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the United States of America Donald Trump began with one-on-one talks in the U.S. president’s limousine, TASS reports.
After a photo shoot on the tarmac of the U.S. military base Elmendorf-Richardson Donald Trump invited Vladimir Putin to travel to the negotiation venue in his armored limousine Cadillac One. This is how the leaders started confidential talks even on the way to the negotiation venue.
The Russian president landed in Alaska at about 11:00 local time (22:00 Minsk time) on 15 August. Donald Trump greeted Vladimir Putin outside the aircraft.
The summit of the presidents of Russia and the USA is taking place at the U.S. Air Force’s and U.S. Army’s Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on 15 August. The resolution of the conflict in Ukraine will be the central theme of the talks. Attention will also be paid to bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington and to matters on the international agenda.
