MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) - The contribution of BRICS countries to global economy has exceeded the share of G7 states, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the State Council Presidium to discuss export, TASS reports.
“The contribution of BRICS nations to global economy has exceeded the share of G7 states and keeps growing,” the Russian leader said.
"In 1992, G7 accounted for 45.5% of global GDP, while in 2022 it [accounted for] 30.5% [of global GDP]. <…> The forecast for 2028 is 27.9%. The BRICS group, excluding the new members, had a share of 16.7% in world GDP in 1992, and 31.4% in 2022. This share is projected to increase ti 33.8% by 2028," Vladimir Putin said.
“This is the trend. It continues and will not go away. These are objective processes that are not related to the current trends and conflicts,” the Russian president said.
