MFA: Belarus voices support for Venezuela’s government, calls for urgent UN Security Council session

MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus strongly condemns the armed aggression against the sovereign state of Venezuela carried out on 3 January 2026, viewing it as a direct threat to international peace and security, BelTA reports.
In an official statement, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared: “The Belarusian side expresses its unwavering support for the legitimate government of Venezuela and joins the call for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, which bears the primary responsibility for maintaining peace.”
