MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – The powerful forces are working to create the hegemony of opinion, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said as he spoke at the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
"Nowadays, powerful forces are working to create the hegemony of opinion. If you do not toe the mainstream line, your right to express your own opinion is immediately challenged and called into question," the minister said.
According to him, this clearly shows a very low standard of political debate in Europe at the current stage.

He stressed the importance of sovereignty and independent decision-making regarding the country's development and its activities in the international arena. "Sovereignty is of great importance today. Hungarian people will defend every inch of their sovereignty. For us, sovereignty means freedom from diktat. It means that our actions are guided by our own interests and we look at the world from our own point of view. It means that no one should tell us what to do or say or where,” Péter Szijjártó stated.
