MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar held talks in Islamabad on 25 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maksim Ryzhenkov discussed with his Pakistani counterpart a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, and also cooperation in the international arena.

The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs praised the Belarusian-Pakistani interaction. In less than six months since the meeting between Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Astana, the parties have held ministerial consultations and a meeting of the joint commission on trade and economic cooperation. In October 2024, the prime minister of Belarus visited Islamabad and held talks with his Pakistani counterpart.

The minister thanked the Pakistani side for the constructive joint work to prepare the visit of the Belarusian president to Pakistan. In his words, a representative business forum is taking place in the Pakistani capital, and the heads of Belarusian ministries and agencies - members of the official delegation - are holding talks with their Pakistani counterparts.

The parties discussed elements of the program of the high-level events, as well as bilateral documents to be signed, and agreed to coordinate joint work to facilitate the effective implementation of the agreements to be reached during the forthcoming visit.
