MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) - The current transitional period in world politics carries risks of a new global war, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the international conference “Contribution of the peoples of the CSTO member states to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War” at the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces, TASS reported.
“The current transitional period carries the risks of a new global war. It is obvious that the factor of nuclear weapons and a relatively universal mechanism of military escalation will turn a possible third world war into a total one. Thus the analysis of the conflict potential of the modern world is relevant and important,” he said.
