Belarusian PM to visit Russia’s Tatarstan on 23 April

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin will head to Tatarstan, Russia on 23 April. The program of the trip was discussed during a thematic meeting, BelTA learned from the government’s press service.

Aleksandr Turchin is set to meet with Tatarstan’s Head Rustam Minnikhanov and sign several bilateral agreements.

The government delegation is also expected to visit major industrial enterprises in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga. Among them are the MTZ-Tatarstan manufacturing and trading company, where the delegation will tour the production facilities and participate in a ceremony to hand over 19 gas-powered tractors and 20 trucks by MAZ. The delegation will examine the Russian company KamAZ, its main assembly line and the R&D center that develops automatic transmissions for KamAZ and Aurus vehicles. The Belarusian prime minister will also visit the oil refinery complex TANECO and review its central control room and products.

The press service emphasized the significance of this visit, noting that Tatarstan is one of Belarus’ key economic partners among Russian regions. It ranks 9th in terms of trade and 8th in terms of export.
