MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) - The European security model should be replaced with a Eurasian architecture, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affaires Sergei Aleinik said in his speech at a meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council in Almaty, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The European security model, which has failed to prove its worth, should be replaced with a Eurasian security architecture with new-generation organizations. Organizations whose members have a deeper understanding of the principles of justice and equality, are fully aware of the importance of the principle of indivisibility of security, and have great respect for international law and for each other's national, religious and cultural characteristics. I would include the CSTO among such organizations," Sergei Aleinik stressed.
Sergei Aleinik also said: "We were pleased to launch the discussions on the promising Eurasian security architecture during the high-level international conference ‘Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World’ which was held in Minsk in October 2023 as part of the Belarusian CSTO chairmanship.”
