Belarusian ambassador attends ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi 

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov took part in the ASEAN Future Forum (AFF 2025) in Hanoi, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Vietnam.

 In their welcoming speeches, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta, Prime Minister of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra, UN Under-Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed stressed the importance of multilateral approaches to solving existing problems, strengthening cooperation with regional and global organizations and partner countries. 

The event brought together nearly 600 high-level representatives from ASEAN member countries, senior officials of Vietnam's Foreign Ministry, other ministries and agencies, provincial People's Committees, experts and analysts, and the diplomatic corps. 

Earlier in the day, Ambassador Vladimir Borovikov was among the guests of honor at the opening of the photo exhibition Vietnam's Journey to ASEAN: 30 Years of Progress and Aspirations for the Future’ organized under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. 

On the margins of the event, the Belarusian ambassador had a brief exchange of views on a number of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda with a number of high-ranking representatives of Vietnamese government agencies and heads of diplomatic missions.
