
MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) - Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of Belarus Sergei Rachkov will take part in the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Brasília on 3-5 June, the press service of the House of Representatives told BelTA.
The BRICS Parliamentary Forum has established itself as a key platform to strengthen dialogue and inter-parliamentary cooperation among member states.
Brasil assumed the BRICS presidency in 2025 under the theme “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance”. Brazil outlined six main areas of focus during its presidency: global healthcare cooperation; trade, investment and finance; climate change; AI governance; multilateral security architecture; institutional development.
The 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum is set to discuss the role of BRICS parliaments in building more inclusive and sustainable global governance. The event program includes three sessions for the heads of international affairs committees (3 June), three working sessions for women parliamentarians from BRICS countries, and six plenary sessions (4-5 June).
Sergei Rachkov will speak at all three sessions for committee heads and two plenary sessions. Additionally, several bilateral meetings are planned with leaders of parliamentary delegations from participating countries.
