Belarus, Russia discuss cooperation in Africa, Asia-Pacific

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have discussed cooperation in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. These matters were addressed during meetings between First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich and his Russian counterparts as part of his participation in the Belarus-Africa Forum in Moscow, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During talks with Sergey Vershinin,  Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed cooperation with African countries, along with prospects for implementing joint economic projects on the continent.
Sergei Lukashevich also exchanged views with Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on cooperation with countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The diplomats discussed regional multilateral formats, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
“The parties will continue to maintain contacts on pressing issues of cooperation with distant countries,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs remarked.
