Belarus, Pakistan hold first consultations on consular matters

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - The first Belarusian-Pakistani consultations on consular issues were held in Islamabad on 25 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The head of the Belarusian delegation, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov and First Deputy Interior Minister Muhammad Khurram Agha, Deputy Interior Minister Salman Chaudhry and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan discussed a wide range of issues related to consular cooperation, education, migration policy of the two countries, bilateral legal framework in this area and the fight against crime. 

The consultations became yet another confirmation of the close interaction between Belarus and Pakistan in various areas of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were established on 3 February 1994. In 2024, Belarus and Pakistan celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
