Belarus, Colombia agree to expand economic cooperation

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Colombia have decided to intensify trade and economic cooperation. These issues were discussed during the visit of Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov to Colombia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Evgeny Shestakov met with Deputy Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia Andres Cardenas. “The parties outlined steps to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation. An agreement was reached to continue work on diversifying trade, developing mechanisms to help increase mutual trade, expanding business exchanges, and developing the legal framework between Belarus and Colombia,” the Belarusian ministry of foreign affairs said.

The deputy minister of foreign affairs also met with the top management of Integra, the operator of passenger lines. This company holds leading positions in transportation in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

“They parties exchanged views on the prospects of supplies of the entire range of Belarusian engineering products to Latin American markets, including modern electric vehicles and quarry machinery,” the ministry added.
