Belarus attends OSCE Annual Security Review Conference

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta is participating in the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC), held at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna, BelTA learned from the Permanent Mission of Belarus to the international organizations in Vienna.

Speaking at a special plenary session dedicated to the security situation in the OSCE, Igor Sekreta presented Belarus’ position on key issues of the security architecture and Minsk’s approaches to addressing current challenges.

The head of the Belarusian delegation remarked that attempts to create a universal security formula for all of Europe have failed. “The security architecture built over decades by previous generations has been dismantled. The principle of indivisible security has been lost. The reason is clear: the persistent promotion of the NATO-centric security model and the ‘might makes right’ principle, which has led to the security of some states being achieved at the expense of others,” Igor Sekreta said.

He emphasized that progress can only be achieved through cooperation, a willingness to compromise, and respectful dialogue. “Minsk has the political will for such an approach and expects a similar attitude from all OSCE member states,” the deputy minister added.
