On 31 August, HC Yunost Minsk clinched the second most prestigious trophy in Belarusian hockey - the Belarusian Cup, named after Ruslan Salei. The Minsk team’s opponent in the final was HC Shakhtyor Soligorsk. The match ended 2-1 in favor of HC Yunost Minsk. Yunost has now won the country's cup a record eighth time, while Shakhtyor has lost its third consecutive tournament final.
