MOSCOW, 7 October (BelTA - TV BRICS) - From 6 to 12 October 2025, the Winter Theatre in Sochi is hosting the 10th Yuri Grigorovich International Competition "Young Ballet of the World", dedicated to the memory of the choreographer and the competition’s permanent artistic director, Yuri Nikolaevich Grigorovich.

More than 100 applications were submitted from Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Paraguay, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries. Following the selection round, 70 young performers are participating in the competition screenings. They will compete for recognition by an international jury comprising distinguished choreographers from various nations.

“'The Young Ballet of the World' competition continues the legacy of the great master, annually revealing new names in world ballet and giving young talents a unique opportunity to showcase their skills,” emphasised Russia’s Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

Traditionally, the competition opens with a spectacular performance by the Yuri Grigorovich Krasnodar Ballet Theatre. On the stage of the Winter Theatre, audiences can enjoy the legendary Spartacus choreographed by Grigorovich, with solo performances by Bolshoi Theatre prima ballerina and People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Anna Nikulina and Bolshoi Theatre Principal Dancer Igor Tsvirko.

The event is organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and held by the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture “ROSCONCERT” in cooperation with the International Federation of Ballet Competitions. TV BRICS serves as the general information partner.
