MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA - TV BRICS) - The BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre hosted an international
press conference on the launch of the national stages of the "KARDO"
Award in 15 countries. TV BRICS is the international media partner of
the project for the second year in a row.
Valentin Rabotenko, General Director of the award, told about the expansion of the geography of the project.
"This year we are launching an office in Argentina, which will work for the whole of Latin America. We expect it to open at the end of May," he said.
Rabotenko also added that negotiations will begin in September to launch an office in Africa, while the next step will be to open an office in Asia – it is expected to be located in China.
Answering journalists' questions, he said the authors of the project intend to develop cooperation with universities and student sports.
"Universities already have interest, both within our country and through BRICS," he concluded.
Innokenty Dementiev, Deputy Director General of the Presidential Grants Foundation, said that the project managed to become a growth point for street culture on an international scale.
"This is a unique case. I recommend you to my colleagues as an example of how to develop," he emphasised.
The press conference was also attended by 'KARDO's" UAE ambassadors Alex Mizurov and Colombia's John Alexander Castano Bera.
"We are trying to attract as many skaters as possible, we have a huge community in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi," said Mizurov.
Castano Bera, for his part, emphasised that "KARDO" helps to solve social problems for young people in Colombia.
"KARDO" is the first and only project in Russia in the field of street culture and sports. Since its launch, representatives from 125 countries have taken part in it. The initiative unites ambassadors from Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe. The project is part of the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity".
