MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – The World Bank has revised its projections concerning Belarus’ GDP in 2024 upwards, BelTA learned from the World Bank’s publication “Europe and Central Asia economic update, Fall 2024: Better education for stronger growth”.
The World Bank expects Belarus’ GDP to grow by 4% in 2024 and by 1.2% in 2025. The World Bank’s projections were much more moderate in June 2024: only 1.2% and 0.7% respectively.
According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, in January-September 2024 Belarus’ GDP grew by 4.5% while the annual target stands at 3.8%. For now the economy is growing at a rate well above the projected one. In 2025 Belarus’ GDP is supposed to rise by 4.1%.
