MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) conducted major trading sessions for the export of flax tow, resulting in the sale of Belarusian flax products to Türkiye for $1.3 million, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
During the trading session, a Turkish buyer finalized three deals, with a total volume of 300 tonnes, marking the highest sales volume since flax processing products were introduced to the exchange platform.

“Since the beginning of 2025, over 1,000 tonnes of Belarusian flax fiber and flax tow have been exported, which is nearly nine times more than the total volume sold last year,” the press service noted. “Turkish companies remain the main buyers of these products, accounting for 76% of total flax fiber exchange sales this year. Additionally, in 2024-2025, Belarusian flax products were purchased by China, Latvia, the UAE, and Russia.”

Export trading sessions for flax fiber and flax tow are held twice a week at BUCE, alongside auctions for vegetable oils, amino acids, sugar, beet pulp, molasses, and other processed agricultural products. All leading flax processors in Belarus are accredited sellers on the exchange platform. Since the first successful auctions in November 2024, the total export volume of flax products has reached 1,150 tonnes.
