MOSCOW, 5 August (BelTA) - Issues sensitive for the countries - members of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of technical regulation and standardization were discussed during a meeting between Valentin Tataritsky, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), and Elena Morgunova, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus, in Moscow, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

"The parties discussed the issues related to the unified registers of protocols of examination (tests) and measurements issued during the assessment of product conformity to the EAEU technical regulations and the unified register of authorized representatives of the manufacturers provided for by the protocol on amendments to the EAEU Treaty. The parties also reviewed the issues regarding the development of ‘second-tier’ documents needed to implement the EAEU international treaties in the field of supervision over compliance with product requirements and the action plan for the Strategy 2025,” the press service said.

Particular attention was paid to adjusting the technical regulation "On the safety of wheeled vehicles" and ensuring the functioning of electronic vehicle registration systems. The parties also reviewed the status of the plan for the development of EAEU technical regulations and amendments to them, including the progress in drafting the amendments to the technical regulations.

"Valentin Tataritsky plans to hold similar meetings with the heads of authorized bodies in the field of technical regulation of other EAEU countries. This will help find mutually acceptable solutions to issues sensitive to the states of the union," the EEC added.
