Shehbaz Sharif praises dump trucks by Belarus' BelAZ

ZHODINO, 11 April (BelTA) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif together with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin visited workshops of BelAZ, one of the world's largest manufacturers of dump trucks. The Pakistani guest praised the quality of Belarusian dump trucks and promised to return in order to study the model range of the enterprise in more detail, BelTA has learned.
The Pakistani prime minister spoke highly of the technological level of the company and the quality of its products and thanked Aleksandr Lukashenko for his suggestion to visit this factory. He expressed confidence that cooperation with the enterprise will gain momentum, and also assured that he will definitely come to BelAZ again during his next visit to Belarus.

The delegation from Pakistan visited the enterprise's Museum of Labor Glory, where they were told about the history of BelAZ. The delegation was also told about the production facilities, assembly process and the product portfolio. While touring the exhibition area, the guests saw all the models of equipment produced by the company, including a 90-tonne dump truck, which was painted in the national colors of Belarus and decorated with traditional ornaments.

According to Deputy Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov, a 45-tonne dump truck has recently been delivered to a cement plant in Pakistan. “Today, members of the delegation, headed by the prime minister, were walked through the process of manufacturing this truck, they also examined the model range and got interested in the further use of our equipment in the mining industry of their country,” he said. The deputy minister added that Shehbaz Sharif had already given an order to estimate how many Belarusian machines Pakistan needs.

The visit to BelAZ was not in the plans of the Pakistani prime minister. He changed his initial program of the visit and came to the factory upon a suggestion of the Belarusian head of state. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Belarus has great competencies in equipment production, including mining equipment.

At the meeting with Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Pakistani prime minister said that he plans to expand cooperation with Belarus and implement all bilateral agreements and arrangements that were reached during the visit. The documents signed in Minsk include agreements on readmission, on combating crime, a roadmap for cooperation in the defense industry in 2025-2027, an action plan to implement a memorandum of cooperation in environmental protection, etc.

BelAZ produces equipment for the mining industry: dump trucks, bulldozers, loaders, airfield tractors, etc. Established in 1947, the factory is one of the world's seven major concerns producing mining equipment.
