Russia's Chelyabinsk Oblast interested in making tractors together with Belarusian MTZ

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Chelyabinsk Oblast is interested in producing tracked tractors and gas-powered tractors together with the Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ. The possibilities were discussed as a delegation of the Russian region led by Vice Governor Yegor Kovalchuk visited the Belarusian company, BelTA has learned.

The possibility of MTZ buying materials and components made by Chelyabinsk Oblast enterprises and prospects of expanding manufacturing cooperation ties were also discussed. At present Chelyabinsk Oblast buys tractors via an MTZ dealership. As many as 230 units were supplied in January-November 2019.

Members of the delegation went to see an exhibition of MTZ products and the company's history museum. Negotiations with MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk took place.

MTZ is one of the world's largest manufacturers of agricultural machines. The holding company comprises the parent enterprise MTZ and nine other enterprises. As many as 26 assembly enterprises have been established abroad. The manufacturing division employs over 17,000 people. MTZ products are represented in over 60 countries.
