MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Leonid Ryzhkovsky talked to reporters on the sidelines of a session of the high-level group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and explained when products will be able to get recognized as products made in the Union State, BelTA has learned.
Leonid Ryzhkovsky said: “Work is nearly over to create criteria for treating products as goods of the Union State. The main criteria include compliance with requirements of Belarusian and Russian government regulations and having a certain share of Belarusian and Russian components. Another requirement is compliance with standards of the Union State.”
Plans have been made to carry out a pilot project concerning passenger transport, cargo vehicles, and microelectronic products in 2026. Machine tools are also expected to be some of the first goods classified as Union State products. “The pilot project will demonstrate where we are going in addition to positive and negative sides. And as from 2027 we will expand the choice of our products,” the deputy industry minister noted.
The Union State product status is expected to enable access to public procurement programs, support programs, and subsidizing programs.
