PM outlines priorities for Belarus' Hi-Tech Park

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin outlined key priorities for Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park (HTP) and addressed crucial aspects of cryptocurrency regulation in Belarus as he spoke at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Belarusian technology hub.
HTP's performance in H1 2025 breeds cautious optimism, Aleksandr Turchin said. “We are seeing growth in the number of park residents, workforce at these companies, revenue, and exports. Yet, this is no reason for complacency. We clearly see the reserves we have available, we see the direction we need to move,” he emphasized.

According to the prime minister, the meeting addressed several critical issues, including cryptocurrency usage, a topic President Aleksandr Lukashenko had raised earlier as he received a report from National Bank Chairman Roman Golovchenko. “Cryptocurrency matters extend beyond our borders, requiring global consideration. This sensitive domain demands regulatory frameworks that stimulate activity while fulfilling national obligations to prevent adverse effects,” the prime minister said.

HTP educational initiatives formed another key discussion point during the meeting. “Education remains paramount, especially for IT development. We are finalizing several collaborative projects for launch,” the prime minister said.

The meeting also reviewed digital transformation pilot programs being implemented within the Hi-Tech Park.
