Plans to assemble Belarus’ MTZ tractors in India

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – The city of Ludhiana (the northwestern state of Punjab) hosted a presentation of the Belarus-622 tractors and the Belarus-920 special-purpose tractor of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), BelTA learned from the Embassy of Belarus in India.

The event was arranged by the Indian company Erisha Agritech Private Limited. The company signed an agreement earlier this year to supply a large batch of Belarusian tractors to the Indian market. The presentation also featured attachments for agricultural machinery produced by the Gomselmash India Private Limited joint venture.

According to the embassy, with the new agreement in place, Erisha Agritech Private Limited will be able to offer Indian farmers great agricultural machinery and technology. The two companies also plan to sign more agreements in the near future to supply tractors to India's neighboring countries: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

“In addition, within the framework of the effective agreement, the parties are set to localize and assemble tractors in India under the joint brand DARSH BELARUS,” the Belarusian diplomatic mission said.
