MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City Aleksandr Sidoruk met with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Promising avenues of advancement of Belarus-Vietnam cooperation were discussed during the meeting as well as interaction between the Republic of Belarus and Ho Chi Minh City in trade, economy, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
The consul general outlined priorities of cooperation, including expanding the range of Belarusian goods exported to the Vietnamese market, manufacturing cooperation, further promotion of ties between higher education institutions and student exchange programs as well as scientific, technical, and practical interaction in the field of information technologies.
The parties paid special attention to the development of partnership relations between Minsk and Ho Chi Minh City taking into account the program on cooperation in 2024-2026 and the intensification of business visits. The organization of a visit by the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to Belarus and the organization of Ho Chi Minh City Days in Minsk in 2026 were discussed.
The chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee noted the importance of expanding interaction in all areas taking into account the transition of the bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership. He proposed holding a series of events in 2026 for the sake of practical implementation of the agreements reached at the top level.
