“We are set to increase the output by 30% within three years by means of ramping up furniture production. We declared this goal when we joined the free economic zone. Furniture is a key product for us. It gives us an opportunity to get additional income and to promote growth. First of all, we focus on finished product – ready-made furniture for retail networks of both Belarus and also large multinational companies. We have recently successfully passed a comprehensive social audit to gain access to these markets,” Aleksandr Ilnitsky noted.

The annual turnover of the company exceeds €50 million. The main product is chipboards that account for up 92% of the total output. OAO Ivatsevichdrev ventured into carcass furniture assessment in 2017, and this segment has been growing fast. The factory supplies furniture to five countries today. In addition, a furniture cluster began to be grwoing around OAO Ivatsevichdrev.

“We are very interested in the development of the furniture cluster as chipboards is the primary product for the production of furniture. Now we process no more than 2.5% of the boards we produce. In the next three years we plan to bring this share up to 10%. In addition, we have the opportunity to lease premises to potential investors. One of them is Polipol company which organized the production using our old manufacturing site and plans to build a furniture factory with investments of €25 million next year,” Aleksandr Ilnitsky said.

OAO Ivatsevichdrev is one of Belarus' largest manufacturers of chipboard, including laminated chipboard. In order to promote the export of Belarusian products , Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom together with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a presentation of the Belarusian export-oriented timber enterprises for representatives of foreign diplomatic missions. The event was attended by representatives of more than 20 countries, including Bulgaria, Venezuela, Georgia, Israel, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Palestine, Poland, Syria, Sudan, Turkey, Ukraine and Japan.
