Focus on quality, affordable housing in Belarus

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – The construction of modern, high-quality and affordable housing will be high on the agenda in Belarus, Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich said as he visited the Zhabinka PMK 10 construction company, BelTA learned from the press service of the Architecture and Construction Ministry.

The minister was briefed on the financial and economic performance of the enterprise, its export potential and working conditions of employees. He also met with the labor collective to discuss the results of the Belarusian People's Congress and issues facing not only the enterprise, but the industry as a whole. “The Belarusian People's Congress delegates put forward many useful initiatives and proposals. Most of them were upheld, and some are already being implemented. In my opinion, the congress became a large-scale dialogue platform where absolutely every delegate could voice their concerns,” Ruslan Parkhamovich said.

As to the construction industry, the minister spoke in detail about the goals and objectives for the next five years. “Close attention will be paid to the construction of modern, high-quality and affordable housing. This applies to all regions of the country without exception. Every year we will increase construction pace and by 2025 we plan to build about 4.5 million square meters of housing per year. All houses will be built using advanced technologies and materials,” the minister emphasized.

The press service of the ministry noted that the meeting was held in an open format, representatives of the enterprise asked questions regarding the development of the region, prices for building materials, purchase of new vehicles, as well as the workload.
