MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – In the first half of 2025 Belarus’ export of tourism services increased by 39% year-on-year, Belarus’Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik told journalists, BelTA reports.

“The tourist season in the Republic of Belarus is in full swing. We are seeing more and more visitors coming to our country,” said Oleg Andreichik. He noted that the Yunost sanatorium is one of the country’s flagship tourist facilities. “Occupancy is at 100%, and the services provided there meet our guests’ expectations,” he added.
Oleg Andreichik noted that of the 13 types of tourism available in Belarus, health and wellness tourism is recognized as the country’s signature brand.

Speaking about resort facilities, the deputy minister highlighted the continuous development of new travel routes. “Guests at our sanatoriums enjoy a dual benefit – receiving quality treatment while discovering Belarus. These combined offerings encourage regular excursions, with weekend getaways being particularly popular,” he emphasized.
“We’re pleased to note that our international visitors now include not only our Eastern neighbors – travelers from the Russian Federation – but also tourists from distant countries. We’ve seen growing tourist flows from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates,” the deputy minister emphasized. “This demonstrates the expanding diversity of our tourism offerings and destinations. Today, we’re reaching a substantial, modern level of development in our tourism sector.”

The deputy minister named another reason behind sustainable interest in Belarus as a travel destination: 30-35% of sanatorium guests return for repeat visits, often bringing their families along.
The Yunost sanatorium run by the Belarusian President Property Management Directorate hosted a session of the working group on promoting health and wellness tourism of the Interdepartmental Tourism Council under the Council of Ministers. The meeting discussed the performance and export opportunities of sanatoriums of Minsk Oblast.
